Christina Præstkær Jørgensen

What do you emphasize in your teaching?
For me, yoga is an inner experience. Therefore, I focus on depth and on the mental, emotional, and energetic aspects of yoga.
I emphasize experiencing and connecting with the body and breath. Shifting attention from the external surroundings and turning inward, letting go of tensions and freeing energy.
My great passion is combining yoga with sound. Sound through singing bowls, gongs, instruments, and chanting, which adds a powerful effect. Experiencing how the vibrations of sound ripple down to the cellular level, providing a sense of calm to the mind.

What do you hope your students will take away from a class with you?
An experience of being present, of having established a “connection” with themselves, and feeling a calm and presence that can hopefully be carried into everyday life. To have stepped out of the mind a bit and back into the body, making it easier to listen to themselves and their body’s signals. To release tension and unlock more energy in body and mind.

What do you particularly like about Senses?
Senses has luxurious spaces and facilities. There’s a wonderful atmosphere and skilled instructors. And it’s possible to train both the body and the mind.

What motivates you to teach?
I am motivated by witnessing the difference that yoga makes for each individual.
How well-being in body and mind can provide us with the resilience and inspiration to be the best version of ourselves – especially during times when life presents challenges.
