Michael Bjerrum
Michael Bjerrum teaches Hot Yoga and is a faculty member of the Senses 100-hour Yoga Teacher Foundation Training. Michael began practicing yoga due to back pain. After a season of practicing “housewife yoga,” the pain disappeared, and he became curious to explore more about yoga. Michael is trained from Sats and later from Hamsa, with a 200-hour yoga teacher training. Additionally, he has added 40 hours of Anusara teacher training and intensive Anusara training equivalent to 200 hours.
What motivates you to teach? I can see that the students feel good and leave the class with a smile.
What motivates you to continue practicing? The body will always change, so there’s always something new to learn.
What do you emphasize in your teaching? I emphasize that students have a positive experience with themselves and their bodies through teaching good and simple yoga.
What does yoga give you? Yoga gives me a greater understanding of my own body. The awareness that everything will change, and therefore, we should enjoy life here and now.
What do you want members to take away from a class with you? A positive view of their own body and a good feeling in their body.
What do you particularly like about Senses? There are several things. Firstly, you have the opportunity to train the whole body. Secondly, the facilities are lovely, and there’s a great atmosphere.
