What do you emphasize in your teaching?
It means a lot to me that there is a good atmosphere in the room when I teach. I focus on guiding into each pose in the most natural and accessible way, making it feel simple without being boring.
What do you hope your students will take away from a class with you?
A feeling of having done something good for themselves. Warmth and calmness in their bodies, both from their effort and from letting go for a while.
What do you particularly like about Senses?
There is always a pleasant atmosphere at Senses. When I walk through the doors of Senses, a sense of calmness washes over me, whether I’m heading to a yoga class or teaching one myself. I love hot yoga, and that’s what drew me in from the beginning. The feeling of getting warm all the way to the bones, it’s fantastic.
What motivates you to teach?
Yoga gives me so much, both physically and mentally. I want to pass that on to others. For me, yoga is about combining physical activity with inner calm and self-awareness. When I started practicing yoga myself, I was as stiff as a board. It has been a journey to get here, and it’s still a journey. I hope I can help others develop a more positive relationship with their bodies and, in turn, their minds. Maybe just have a better day because they practiced yoga.
